The evening started out great with an S9 bearing of 30 true from the
start point. Bearing was a dead on Baldy Bounce so we figured Jippy would
hide out east towards his home in Fontana.

Went over Chino Hills on Grand trying to get up high at Summitridge Park
which is good to look for signals coming from out east or southeast. Had
to nix those plans as the lock the gate at sundown. Stayed with
Grand/Edison all the way to Haven. Lots of northerly sigs with some even
pointing up Euclid but I wrote that off.

While on Haven I noticed a couple of flickers off to the northeast that I
saw couple of times just north of the 10 Fwy. Ignored those for some
reason as I was having a bear of a time trying to figure out which was
the main T and what were the secondary boxes. Tried to copy code and for
about 2 hours thought I was hearing 2 tees when in fact I was hearing
just one that seemed to idle back and forth with low then high tones. One
of those tones in the sequence caused the Doppler to go from a dead
straight ahead lock on to a wild spin around the dial. Keep that in mind
for next time!

As I got higher up on Haven above Foothill the signal got much weaker.
Figured it was more than likely a reflection but also recalled lots of
power line access roads up in these parts that dipped into some canyons.
Dead ends of Haven, Hermosa, and Archibald prove fruitless in the search
as there were a TON of signs indicating "CLOSED ROAD" and "RESIDENTS
ONLY." Before I departed this bouncy area I called Deryl at 9pm to let
him know I was still out there. Mentioned that I might try Lytle Creek.

Good bounce still along 210 Fwy east to I-15 North. At Sierra I *finally*
get a semblance of a direct bearing which points right up to Glen Helen
Regional Park. Around 10pm in the area of Sycamore Canyon Rd. and Glen
Helen Rd. I see KF6GQ storming back northbound out of that tract of new
homes that doesn't even exist on my 2006 Thomas Guide or even on my 2007
Navigon car GPS. Proceeded to get lost in here while making a loop back
out to the 15. Signal from these homes now pointing east towards
Institution Road and Cajon Blvd.

Went around to Cajon Blvd. and locked on a steady sig pointing dead
ahead. Around 3rd St. in Muscoy started to hear 2 Jippy voice tees. Both
appeared off to the right at 90 degrees and possibly passed one as I
drove 60 MPH down Cajon.

At the 210/Cajon sig now went due west down Highland. Looks like the
Lytle Creek Wash or whatever that is. Highland has changed dramatically
due to freeway construction and doesn't match to the map. At Riverside
Ave. in Rialto sig changes to northwest and we mess around for awhile in
the homes near the El Rancho Verde Golf Course. Sigs here point across
the creek towards the northeast and Blake St. on east side of wash. By
this time it's getting close to 11pm and I have damn near 100 miles
racked up and was very tired.

We tried one more road called Oakdale off Highland and this was the only
point in the nite where we could actually hear the main T without an
antenna on my scanner. At the end of this street was the beginning of a
dirt trail that paraelled the creek but was all fenced in. From here
everything pointed over to the other side where a few streets called
Blake, Darby, and Macy were all good candidates.

Just before we threw in the towel at 11pm a couple sheriff's deputies
looking for stolen cars decided to rouse me with their nice and warm
spotlights while driving down Blake St. Saw a bunch of coyotes out there
too. Neighborhood seemed a little "run down" and wasn't comfortable with
A)Leaving my car alone and B)Walking around by myself at 11pm.

From all indications it seemed like Jippy was IN THE CREEK somewhere
above or below Highland Ave. Maybe under that mish-mash of freeway and
railroad bridges that run over the creek. Oh well too tired to figure it
out. Think I'll stick to 3rd Sat hunts from now on. Read: EASY!
