Pathfinder Hunt

T1 (Main T)
Location: Along the fence to the entrance of Angels Gate Park in San Pedro; just
off of Gaffey St and Lenworth Dr. We were trying for a Santiago bounce, but
obviously we were running too much power for that! T1 was running 10 watts into
an 18-element horizontal beam aimed at Santiago Peak.
This was not the planned spot—we were first going to hide at Point Fermin Park,
right along the water. We had planned this spot several weeks in advance, but
someone was working against us and put up “NO TRESPASSING” signs in the exact
area where T1 would be.

Location: Just off of Crenshaw Blvd. (at the top)
down a path that looks into a canyon with an excellent view of Catalina Island.
T2 was running 3 watts into a 3-element horizontal beam aimed at Catalina
Island.

Location: At the intersection of Hawthorne Blvd.
and Vallon Dr. at a memorial tree on the side of the road down in the cactus
plants under a rock. T3 was running 2 watts into a 5/8-wave vertical.

Location: Along a fence (in the bushes) just outside Ladera Linda
Park on the back side of PV just off of Palos Verdes Dr. South and Forrestal
Dr. T4 was a 50mw Mini-T with a 19" wire antenna woven into the fence it was
hanging on.
