June 20th, 1998 Fullerton Transmitter Hunt

Hiders: Clark WB6ADC and Richard N6UZS

Clarke WB6ADC and Richard N6UZS hid at the end of Vantage Point Drive and Nottingham Lane in Rowland Heights,Thomas Map Page 709 A-2. Tee box was 1 watt into attenuator network which knocked the signal down to 100 milliwatts. Attempted to start with 1 to 2 milliwatts with no signal back to the start. Antenna was a 4 element quad vertically polarized aiming at the usually overworked and infamous "Baldy Bounce".

After the expected exodus of hunters off to the start to the east and the resulting mad dash up the 57 Freeway most teams homed right in on us in just under an hour. The first timer team consisting of W6ZPL, WA6TWF, N6WI, and KF6FDC arrived at lightspeed only 43 minutes into the hunt without maps of the area and without any kind of mounted quad or yagi. They were strictly L-per sniffer bound and getting out of the car to take headings.

Once again for the 3rd Week in a Row the veteran team of DLQ/PYE have nailed a "3-Peat" for winning the entire month of Saturday night hunts. Congrats!

Now on to the standings:
