Meadhead Hunt

<>By far the best T-hide of the year! We definitely could of done better than we did, but had a good time doing it. No 4-wheel drive necessary, but then again, we didn't go the shortest way to any of the T's. We made a slight detour at my house to get a camara, and to download the Delorme overlays that Bob had gotten for me. Didn't get off the 395 soon enought to get to T1, but the way we went, was very easy! Heard T2 from up there, decided not to listen for any illegal T's on some non T-hunt frequency frequency, and decided not to listen to Steve on a dirt road to T2 that, if it didn't get us lost, would of put us 4 hours behind everybody else to T2 (Steve said it was a short cut).

Got back on 395 saw Bob & Cathy, talked a bit (no lies transpired). Went north on 395 with a signal that was always right in front of us! Right up into Short Canyon. We kept going right pass the T, because we knew that the signal to our left was just a bounce from up ahead right around the next corner. After determining that wasn't viable, we decided to go back to the mouth of the canyon and see where up North the signal was coming from. Then one of us had the bright idea of getting some altitude for this observation. We saw the aquaduct road and it seemed to go to a nice high spot we could get our bearing from. Needless to say the bearing never went North! But we where about ready to go somewhere between the road and the desert floor, when I spotted foot (shoe) prints on the side of the hill, It's usually Steve that sees these things first, but he was covered up in some kind of heavy coat and was trying to keep out of the wind, so he didn't see the clue. 1st. into both T's! We didn't have any other hunters ahead of us to judge how many extra miles to add to our total, so that really is our miles into the T's.  What a beautiful day, enjoyed it throughly, and was finished with 3/8ths of a tank left!
