All Day Hunt

I'm having trouble with the RF noise in my FJ- Cruiser, and it is complicating my acquisition of weak (less than S9 signal). So when we got to Summit start point I turned off the car battery and was able to hear 2-3 transmitters. Then we went to main St. in Hesperia, went east till the signals got un hear able,  (should of thought this was a clue), continued east till we got to Hwy 18 and went up to Big Bear. Nothing! no signal even with the battery disconnected! We started up 3N16 and got a clear shot all the way west, and still no signal. So we thought that since home was west of us, we would start going towards home, if we picked up a signal before we arrived home fine, if not we would get home at a respectable hour. We got all the way to Pine Flats campground before we got a signal T7, and it was pointing back the way we had come! So back east on 3N16 towards White Mt. we went. As we stopped (this was done many times to acquire a signal) who should approach us, Deryl and Ray. So we exchanged info and went back to Pine Flats, and followed Deryl and Ray since they could hear some T's west on Coxey Rd. and we couldn't hear anything! We followed them to all the T's (we had to be within 1 miles of a T to hear it). We saw Jippy coming out from T10, and he passed right in front of Deryl, but failed to notice him. I liked the hide, it was close, it was tricky, and it was over before dark, so I vote a thumbs up to Doug for a good hunt.
