Saturday's hunt, hidden by Bob, N6ZHZ, and Cathy, KD6CYG, was way down south --- about 300 years --- sorry about that! 300 YARDS from the Orange Co./San Diego Co. line boundary, in San Clemente, on a vacant lot at the end of a cul de sac overlooking Camp Pendleton. The T was 1 watt to a rubber duck, and could be heard reasonably poorly at the start, but DLQ said the signal was huntable, and DLQ would never lie to the hiders . . .
Everyone lost the signal as soon as they got down off the hill, and didn't regain it until they were well down the 5 Fwy near Laguna/Dana Point. The hiders were hoping the rubber duck would have made it a little more challenging, but apparently not. Surprisingly, the gentleman who lived right next to the vacant lot was also a ham and had no problem with our using the property next to his.
